I made myself a cartoon.  That is, I transformed myself into a cartoon.  It wasn't that difficult, I found, once I finally got started and I really put my mind to it.  I had motivation.  True motivation, more real than any I'd ever encountered before.  I started with my skeleton, sketching in rough but careful pencil lines.  I added skin, thinning my thins and thickening my thicks.  I was sharp at the corners; harsh, jagged, and masculine.  But in the face, especially in the eyes, I was soft and expressive.  I gave my eyes extra attention, because they, more than anything else, would reveal my every emotion.  All the while I thought, "Go ahea
